2015 is a benchmark year for Aldridge based precision toolmakers Phoenix Tooling and Development as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.

The new year also heralds a further chapter in the continuing success of the business with the directors announcing a major investment programme, designed to support the company’s strong and consistent growth.

Over the past quarter of a century Phoenix, which now employs 13, has successfully built up a loyal customer base of both UK and international customers across a wide range of industries and markets including automotive, aerospace, white goods and electronics.

The company’s reputation for high quality press tooling and specialist skills in progression, transfer and multi-slide tooling projects has been fully recognised and accredited by many of the world’s leading automatic machinery manufacturers, which has lead to Phoenix working in close collaboration with these manufacturers on a number of major projects.

Under the leadership of managing director Martin Mulvey, Phoenix in Phoenix Drive, Northgate, continues to expand the range of internal services that can be offered to clients.

These include project planning, 3D tool design, 3D laser scanning/reverse engineering, press tool repairs, modifications & planned preventative maintenance programs designed to support the production demands of major presswork companies.

“I am immensely proud of our achievements over the past 25 years and our well earned reputation with important clients, much of which must be credited to our team of highly skilled and dedicated engineers,” said Mr Mulvey.

“In order to maintain our high level of service and the quality of our skills base, we have a long standing apprenticeship programme in place, ensuring that we will continue to provide our valued clients with a first class service well into the future,” he added.

Phoenix won the innovation and investment award in last year’s Made in the Midlands Awards held at the Science & Technology Centre, Wolverhampton.

It followed investment in the latest tool room equipment and design and development technology.

The company also has a well-established apprenticeship programme.
