During that last 6 months, the board members of Phoenix Tooling & Development Ltd (PT&D) agreed a strategy to significantly invest further into the business expansion & improve the service given to current & potential clients.

To action & roll out this strategy, I am happy to announce that Phoenix Tooling & Development Ltd have moved to larger & more modern premises around 200yds along the main road from our old site. Please find pictures attached.

In addition to this, we agreed an order to take delivery of a new GF Mikron CNC machining centre with automatic pallet loading equipment to allow 24hrs machining to support customer tooling projects & any urgent spares needed by our clients. This machine will be the largest machining centre sited at Phoenix & has a machining capacity of 2 meters in the X axis & 900mm in the Y axis. The machine is due later this year.

We are also excited to announce the recruitment of our sales office manager. Julie Green will be officially starting full time in this role over the next few weeks, however she has already taken up the challenge & is working additional hours at Phoenix to ensure that she is fully up to speed & 100% effective from her official start date. Julie will be responsible to ensure that RFQ response times are hit, that all information requested from our customers is available & will regularly follow up all quotations, so she can report to the rest of the management team the status of all quotations/enquiries. We are very lucky that Julie already knows our full customer base. She has had a very successful career at our sister company (Cooke Brothers) for 18 years & is fully motivated to ensure our customer service/communication is improved.

Over the last 12 months PT&D management have been working closely with consultants & mentors to create & drive a full working NPI process into the business. After initial discussions it was clear to all involved that PT&D was very much an NPI business & from that point a lot of hard & constructive work has been carried out to create & roll out our NPI processes.

There are plans in place to increase our in-house tool design team to support customer requirements on initial feasibility, strip layouts, simulation & full tool designs, etc.

We have also this week ordered a brand new 500ton (3.4M bed length) press line with roll feed & coil handling to help support our tool hand-over procedures to our customers. The aim is to supply a full detailed report for each tool supplied. The report would include information such as the force results for each stage of the tool, the angle of the forces within the cycle, the speed achieved, etc. We aim to be able to test our tooling within a production environment to ensure a smooth & clear buy-off & hand-over procedure to our customers.

All the above have been actioned after digesting various feedback from customers.

I do believe that you will see a very quick step change in our communications & feedback to you.

If you wish to discuss any topics in more detail, please contact us at sales@phoenixtooling.co.uk.
