Today, we celebrate David Burgess, who marks an amazing 50 years within our Group.
Dave joined us as a 15-year-old lad, starting his career in the Toolroom at our sister company, Cooke Brothers. From there, he moved into Design and, when Phoenix Tooling was formed, became a cornerstone of the business we know today.
To say Dave is a legend in our industry would be an understatement; He is known far and wide as the Design Guru, and anyone who has ever dealt with Phoenix Tooling & Development will almost certainly know Dave.
The simple truth is that there isn’t anything Dave doesn’t know about designing a press tool. His knowledge is unrivalled, his experience is invaluable, and the contribution he has made to our business over the last five decades is impossible to measure.
But what makes Dave truly special is not just his expertise. He is quite simply one of the kindest people you could ever wish to meet. Always willing to help, always willing to share his knowledge, and always a pleasure to work with.
There will never be another Dave Burgess.
Dave, thank you for everything you have done for PT&D, for your loyalty, dedication, friendship, and for being such an incredible asset to our business and our industry.
